VelocityAP 570S Peformance Products + Vendor Introduction
    Hello All,

We have just joined the forum as a Sponsor and look forward to meeting many of you and to earning your business. We recently began working on McLaren at the request of our good friend Johnny Bohmer, the owner of the Guinness World Record Holding Ford GT (Fastest Road-Legal Standing Mile @ 283MPH - BADD GT — BADD GT)

Johnny had a customer with a 675LT who had purchased Fabspeed Sport Cats and was looking to go faster (aren't we all?) and knew how thorough and complete we are with our tuning products. Our team flew to Florida and spent 2 days dyno and street testing software, achieving final gains of 62WHP and 68WTQ, with 120WTQ at 4000RPM. http://www.velocityap.com/McLaren-67...aren675ecu.htm

The result of this project has been a ton of interest in Florida from McLaren owners. Johnny sent us the original patterns from a client's 570S, along with the ECU, and our development process began.

Final fitment and dyno testing will be underway next week, and parts will go into production. Initial offering will be:

    Ceramic Coated X-Pipe Exhaust
    Cat-Delete Pipes
    ECU Tuning

We will also be developing the Catalyst sections with high flow, FIA Homologated Ultra High Temperature cat bricks.

In addition to this specific info, we would take a little time to introduce ourselves better, and to provide some information about our Exhaust Manufacturing, as well as ECU Tuning program and capabilities. I founded the company in 2007 in the UK, but we are now based in British Columbia, Canada and we manufacture sport exhausts, catalysts, and headers here. In addition to our own brand, we also private-label some products, and recently became an original equipment supplier to Aston Martin Racing. Our V8 Vantage Headers, a special catalyst we make for the European race cars and some other exhaust components were recently homologated and are now fitted to all new GT4 Race Car builds. Seen here on the AMR Dyno Cell undergoing Testing:

We do some limited work on customer cars[SUP] here, primarily for product development and testing. At present we have a 2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage in the shop and are 2/3 of the way through designing a Twin Turbo conversion kit for the 4.3L and 4.7L Normally Aspirated Engines. We undertake all aspects of the builds, from header & exhaust fabrication right through to completing the tuning process in-house.

Our ECU Tuning capability started with Aston Martin cars back in 2008, where we quickly found that the commercially available map drivers for these vehicles were very under-developed and didn’t offer sufficient depth for us to write advanced tuning products. As a result, we began doing the work ourselves to identify the tables & functions we needed, not just to write better tunes, but also to allow us to completely integrate physical products like headers, where we were re-locating O2 sensors by several feet. Latterly, we have also developed enough expertise and capability to allow us to fully map the V8 Vantage ECU to run a 7PSI turbo package, entirely through the OEM computer, with no piggy-back or standalone.

Over the last few years, we have branched out with our tuning services to cover a number of other applications, Audi, Porsche, Jaguar, Mercedes and Range Rover to name a few.

The head of our Tuning service, oversees all aspects of our software development and file writing. He is an ASE Red Seal Level 1 certified Technician, with 12 years of experience. In addition this extremely high level of general qualification, he also received factory training and certification from Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Bentley.

We are excited to be a part of this forum and look forward to earning your business, and building some lasting friendships as we have on many of the other boards we sponsor.

    Hello All,

After spending a few days road testing and data-logging, 3 visits to the dyno we're proud to launch this performance package. We couldn't have done this without the valuable expertise & contribution of our development partners and builders of the world's fastest road car: Johnny Bohmer Racing out of WPB Florida: BaddGT

Shout out to HP Logic for helping us out with the dyno: Horsepower Logic | Performance Tuning and Services

    The Vital Stats:

    PEAK GAINS:
    485WHP------)548WHP = +63WHP (81BHP)

    405WTQ------)479WTQ = +74WTQ (87ft/lbs)

    MID-RPM GAINS:
    Over 100WHP (116BHP)
    Over 100WTQ (116ft/lbs)

Not only does the car sound absolutely phenomenal, but as seen on our dyno charts, the most significant area of additional power and torque is from 4000-6000RPM where there is a monster jump in HP and torque.

With this software package, we have also incorporated many of the changes we developed on the 675LT, including enabling left foot braking, which allows better track usage as well as the ability to brake boost for roll-on racing.

Also significant is that we were able to use the same dyno which we used to develop our 675LT software. On the same dyno, with slightly better climatic conditions, the 675LT put down 535WHP, running Sport Cats with STOCK SOFTWARE. That means that within a reasonable margin for error, this 570S is now putting down 25-35WHP MORE THAN A BONE STONE 675LT. With a 98lb weight advantage, and and an additional 20lbs from our exhaust setup, a fully modified VelocityAP 570S may well outrun the 675LT, and should smoke a bone stock 650S.

Kit Price: $8495, made in Canada. Installation Recommended at Johnny Bohmer Racing in WPB, Florida:

    Hello All,

Had some parts arrive today I thought I would share with you. One of the interested aspects of the 540/570/650/675/MP4 & P1 catalyst sections is that they use a unique exhaust flange design. There is a much thicker flange on the turbo side, rather than using a conventional Vband 50/50 split. As a result the exhaust side is much thinner - a normal 16 gauge stainless tube. But the actual inlet is also formed into a recessed lip. There is a male portion on the turbo that seats into this groove.

The reason for this is that the McLarens run quite high boost and this produces a better, more consistent seal. On our prototype parts we used a specially machined Vband, but to go into production we made the investment into the special tooling to stamp out the flange in the correct proportions to create an OEM quality seal every time.

It is a small detail, but we have learned over the last 9 years that details matter, and make the difference between good parts & great parts.

Recently received our prototype Titanium heat blankets for the 570S exhaust. Extra protection is very helpful on these cars as we found the decklid could surpass 200 degrees.

    Hi Everyone,

We just finished a production run of sport cats, and shipped a couple sets, ECU Tuning and an exhaust off to a 570S and a 2017 570GT owner who are having their upgrades done at the same time in the same shop!!

As we have posted before, our cat sections use a purpose built stamped inlet flange which exactly mirrors the factory part, maximizing the mating surfaces and recessing for the turbo flange. All this adds up to a more durable seal, less prone to leaks than a rolled flare.

For our Sport catalysts we use a 200 cell 5 inch (125MM) diameter catalyst brick, rated at an ultra high temperature 1600 degrees Celcius. These high quality matrices allow very high boost & temperature levels with superb durability and are the same brick type we use on our race cats supplied to Aston Martin Racing. They have proven to withstand conditions that others simply couldn't, time and time again.

Flow bench data shows an increase of 33% airflow (112CFM per Cat Pipe for a total of 224CFM increase per vehicle.)

In stock currently and supported by our dyno-proven ECU Tuning for all McLaren Cars.

Some real world results to share with the McLaren community. The Proof is in the pudding. Our partner in Florida Johnny Bohmer Racing took a select group of cars to the 10-29-16 testing session at Space Florida's Shuttle Landing Facility, Kennedy Space Center, FL. Amongst the runners were a few McLarens.

A stock P1, Stock 675LT and a 650S with some exhaust modifications. And finally, a 570S, built by Johnny Bohmer Racing with VelocityAP Cat Deletes, ECU Tuning and XPipe Exhaust.

The Results speak for themselves. Timed by Tag Heuer and verified by the International Mile Racing Association, these were the best runs for each car. The VelocityAP tuned 570S Obliterated the 650S, soundly beat the 675LT, setting an IMRA World Record in the process.

    McLaren P1: 199.583 - Standing Mile Run

    McLaren 675LT: 182.381 - Standing Mile Run

    McLaren 650S: 170.425 - Standing Mile Run

VelocityAP Tuned McLaren 570S: 185.593 - Standing Mile Run

Full Results: IMRA - International Mile Racing Association
